Brief History of Arizona-
On February 14, 1912, Arizona was the last of the contiguous states to be admitted to the union, making it the 48 th state of the U.S. Phoenix is the capital and the largest city in Arizona. Arizona is known for its desert climate and exceptionally hot summers.

The Prescott metropolitan area includes the cities of Prescott, Sedona, Cottonwood, Camp Verde and numerous other towns spread out over the Yavapai County area. These towns form the third largest metropolitan area in the state. Glendale, Peoria, Chandler, Sun City, Sun City West, Fountain Hills, Surprise, Gilbert, El Mirage, Avondale, Tempe and Scottsdale cover Phoenix metro area. These towns form the third largest metropolitan area in the state, with 212, 635 residents. Approximately 100 miles northwest of the Phoenix metropolitan area, is where the city of Prescott is located in Arizona. Its populated by population 41,528 people. Prescott enjoys a much cooler climate than Phoenix. This is due to the fact that Prescott is situated in pine tree forests at an elevation of about 5500 ft.
