Brief History of Acton, CA
In the early 1800’s is when the city of Acton became established. California’s former Governor, Henry T. Gage tried to relocated the state capital to Acton. Even though it only required a few law makers to make the change, the capital remained in Sacramento.
The nickname, “ Soledad City,” was given to Acton. Gold, silver and copper were discovered during the 1860’s. As a result, the city found wealth and became more established.
