Brief History of Campbell, CA
Campbell is located in the West Valley of Santa Clara County. The founder, Benjamin Campbell, arrived to the area with his family in 1846. His father started a sawmill in Saratoga and surveyed the cities if San Jose and Santa Clara. Campbell’s historical downtown core was once the acreage that Benjamin had bought and planted with grain and hay. Campbell was officially incorporated as a city in California in 1952.
