Brief History of Cardiff, CA
Cardiff , officially known as Cardiff-by-the-Sea, is located just south of Encinitas on the Pacific Ocean. Cardiff is a beach community in San Diego County with approximately 12,000 residents which for most purposes, functions like a part of the city of Encinitas, California. It was started by home developer Frank Cullen, who named Cardiff for his wife, a native of Cardiff, Wales. Many streets in Cardiff-by-the-Sea are named for streets in England.
