Before Lynwood was named Lynwood, it was called Rancho San Antonio. Don Antonio Lugo received a grant for a tract property in 1810 that was about 29,514 acres. The city of Lynwood, was just north of Juan Jose Dominguez Rancho San Pedro.
The Los Angeles river, or the San Gabriel river as it was called back then, ran east of the property. The city of Lynwood did not have a major road at the time of the dairy Lynwood is now a well developed city in the county of Los Angeles with Long Beach Boulevard being the main street.
