Brief History of Rescue, CA
Situated northeast of Cameron Park, Rescue is an unincorporated community in El Dorado County. Rescue primarily consists of farmland and ranches with several residential neighborhoods and businesses. Established in 1895, Rescue inhabited a miner named Andrew Hare who was “rescued” from poverty and therefore named the town Rescue. Also, rumor had it that Rescue was once a stop on the Pony Express trail between Placerville and Folsom.
