Brief History of San Anselmo, CA
The city of San Anselmo is located in the county of Marin. San Anselmo was originally inhabited by the Coast Miwoks. San Anselmo is a small, appealing town with a wonderful scenery and beautiful serenity. During the late 1800’s the North Pacific Coast Railroad set up a track going to San Rafael. The city of San Anselmo, California was called “Junction” and later received the name of San Anselmo in 1883. The town of San Anselmo began to grow soon after the San Francisco Theological Seminary opened in 1890.
