Brief History of Valencia, CA
Valencia is another community North of Los Angeles in the Santa Clarita Valley, between Valencia and Newhall. It is officially in the City of Santa Clarita because in 1987 it merged with three other communities for form Santa Clarita. The climate in Valencia is hot and dry, and except for the houses, the area would resemble a desert. Generally, Valencia is separated into several distinct villages, with the homeowner’s association in each Village being responsible for their own area. It is generally accepted that this form of micro-local government is responsible for the clean pleasant environment to be found in Valencia.
