Brief History of Westlake Village, CA
Before Spanish explorers reached the area, the Chumash Indians were the first inhabitants of Westlake Village. Westlake Village is surrounded by the Simi Hills to the north and the Santa Monica Mountains to the south. Westlake Village is located in Los Angeles County and bordered by Thousand Oaks and Ventura County to the east. Through a voting result on December 11, 1981, Westlake Village became the 82 nd city in Los Angeles County.
