Brief History of Wyoming-
Cheyenne is Wyoming’s capital and the most populous city.
Wyoming was first inhabited by several Native American groups. The first white explorers to reach Wyoming actually encountered some of these original inhabitants which include the Crow, Arapaho, Lakota, and the Shoshone. Wyoming was first described in 1807 by a member of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, John Colter. Then in 1812, Robert Stuart and five other men discovered South Pass on their way back from Astoria. The area now known as Bridger Pass was sited by Jim Bridger in 1850, which was used in 1850 by the Union Pacific Railroad. Bridger and Colter shared something in common. They both explored Yellowstone and had filed similar reports about the area, which were considered fictional at the time.
